Presidential Elect

I had to take the time to gather my thoughts and really think about this momentus time in our lives. This morning I called my grandmother to get her perspective on the news and she said like most of her generation, "I never thought I would see the day." But she also said, "we allowed the white man to determine our fate instead of relying on God. He has the power to make all things possible...you can't mess with divine intervention." This made me think long and hard - is this really the Creators work at hand? Does He even care about politics here on earth? I dont know the answer but I do believe that he wants us all to be treated fairly and reach our highest potential. Scripture says that the plan is already laid for each one of us, so maybe this was President Obama's path unbeknownest to him. Either way I am thankful that the day has finally come because NOW the oral tradition of telling our children they can be anything they want to be is no longer just words - it now has meaning, truth, and possibility behind it. Yes, Obama is the first Black President, BUT he is our President - highly qualified and the best candidate in my eyes.
