As my first block in nursing school winds down, I can say "damn it feels good to wake up at 8:30am on a Saturday morning!" I can't even remember the last time I was able to do this, but my pregnant body show nuff needs it. Only about 3 more weeks until the end of the block and I have set in my mind to study nice and slow now in preparation for the daunting Theory Final. I never would've thought that Theory would be the stumping factor in this for me, but I'm not alone. At this point I am just thankful to be here because I came in wondering if I would make it being pregnant and all. Now that I'm almost there, the question at the forefront of my mind is "how will I make it through the next block with a brand new newborn and doing 12hr clinical days?"
I have learned so much this semester which I will review on Dec. 9, 2008. I am in my final rotation of clinicals in acute care rehab. I have given medications, assisted with small-volume nebulizer, removed surgical staples, heard AV fibulators, and listened to wheezes! Nursing is an amazing job and I learn more and more every day.
