The Best We Can Be
Honoring Our Children
Everything we do and say in the presence of our children makes an impression on them. All is taken in and processed.

Everything we do and say in the presence of our children makes an impression on them. We may think we can get away with swearing or gossiping in front of them when they can’t talk, but we have forgotten that just because they can’t talk doesn’t mean they don’t hear. They are sensitive sponges absorbing their environment in ways we will never know. Even if the words don’t make sense to them, they make an impression, as does the energy behind the words. We honor our children when we acknowledge that they are fully present from the very beginning and when we offer ourselves to them in ways that model the best of what humans can be.

When we bring a child into the world, a great welling up of love and hope fills our hearts. We unequivocally want the very best for our children, and we want to be the best parents a child could ever want. We begin to see ourselves and our lives in a different light, and things that seemed okay before we had a child suddenly reveal themselves as problematical. This can lead to a somewhat mincing review of our habits of speech, thought and feeling, our relationships, and our physical habits. We may feel that we have put ourselves under a microscope, which can be stressful. However, it can also lead to a great healing of our own unresolved issues and, in turn, it enables us to be good parents to our children. Talking to other conscious parents about this life transformation can be very helpful.

3rd Times a Charm?

Now that the birth of my 3rd daughter is over - here comes the challenging part, actually parenting all 3 of them without going crazy in the process. My mother, best friend, and husband have helped me tremendously, BUT I ask myself daily "how in the world did my mom do this with stair steppers?!" Wait BRB...

Ok, I'm back. Its 10pm and i just had my 5th or 6th interuption from one of my children, but mostly the middle child. She has been in here like four times either to tell me she has to pee or to try to wiggle her way in the living room to lay down by batting those big brown eyes. The oldest comes in the tell me, in her long drawn out manner, that her sister is waking her up blablabla. Or the newest edition choking on her spit up as all my children do following in my foot steps as a baby. This is just a taste of what you can expect with baby #3.

Let me see where did I leave off? It's 10:06pm and ooopss baby girl 3 just spit up again and threatened to wake up again with her gentle angry squeal! Ahhhh, ok she is quiet now. Back to blogging...tomorrow is my first full day of children juggling alone. Well not quite full because im not in school yet, but this is the beginning. So far so good though. I got clothes out, lunches made (ok im lying a bit, I at least know whats goign in the lunches)....ooops wait...baby girl 3 spit up again and is back at the squeal which seems to be escalting louder and longer (10:09pm)

I gotta finish this blog dang it! Greattt girl 2 is back up in here now saying "i wan pee pee mom" Ok so go do it child! Father help me! Ok I gotta do the short version now because i will be at this all night. I have no free time, sleep, fun these days. I am tired all of the time - naps are essential. The baby sleeps all day and is wide eyed and bushy tailed at night. To quote my good friend in her blog...it would be nice for my husband to wake up out his midnight stupors when to change a diaper, rock the baby, or pick up my 2yr old to take her to the bathroom so I dont have to wash her entire bed yet AGAIN! I really dont understand WHY men just dont get it like women do. WHY do I have to tell you what I need help with when you see my struggling, doing most of the work, or stressing the hell out?!

Ok gots ta go now because its 10:14pm - daughter 2 is back in action pretending to cry easing her way up on the couch to love on the baby giving her kisses and saying "its ok nayah". all while baby girl 3 is vigorously sucking on her hand signaling to me that its time to eat and get a diaper change. so on that note. I hope I have educated the masses on my brand new life. Why would anyone want to replicate this life? Because in the end, its the cute faces, twinkle in their eyes, their unique entertainment, and their high pitched voices that put a huge smile on my face.
