The Island?

Ok, so my husband and I watched The Island the other day. And, as usual, he had to force me to watch it. I was like, " what's the plot of the movie?"

Anyway, I am so glad that I watched it. It was the bomb! I mean it wasn't your typical run of the mill movie with killing, war, or sex. I am sort of a big conspiracy theorists at times. This movie hit it right on the mark. Hollywood has a wonderful way of making "real" situations seem like its JUST entertainment. For those who haven't seen the movie, here is a short synopsis: There is this undercover company that gets Rich people to invest millions of dollars for a lifetime insurance policy by obtaining a human clone. The people don't know that the clones are actually living and breathing though! So, the whole thing is based upon 2 clones escaping when they start realizing what is going on, but they are supposed to function like robots essentially.

So...I believe a large portion of this is true. I mean, I don't know how close they have come to cloning humans, but we know they have cloned an animal. This is a VERY frightening situation! I don't want to live in a world that is so advanced where it thinks it is above the NATURAL cycle of life! The cycle includes birth, aging, and dying. Thats it! There should be no stamp on life that keeps one living forever. That's just boring I think. And it feeds into the self-conscious, materialistic, superficial teachings of society!

Will we start living a life like the Jetsons?
