Whole World Out There

Yesterday, I sat on the couch disgusted by the massive amount of clutter that managed to accumulate in my house. I was sick to my stomach because one thing I can't stand is a junky butt house! Mainly because when your house is cluttered, your mind, body, and spirit cluttered. At least that is my philosophy and I feel that away lately. But, I have only myself to blame because I have a million catch-all spots. Part of the reason is that I am trying to listen to my body more and stop driving myself into the ground - so letting the house go for rest has been difficult, but worth every bit. But a sista can't take no more!

After a huge cleaning adrenalin rush (which I have to continue today), I watched the Stevie Wonder tribute on BET. It was so inspiring to see all of the UNCF winners! It reminded me how blessed I was to attend an HBCU (HU Baby!!!). It truely was a life changing experience - surrounded by people who look like you, support you, and lift you up to stimulate your mind and help you flourish beyond belief. It reminded me there is a whole world out there that I have not discovered! Yahweh blessed me to do a lot of great things in my life, but traveling to see how others live and help childbearing women has been one of my unfulfilled dreams. Despite the fact that my baby is coming this summer, I believe that I can continue going to school as my Aunt did. It will be challenging and full of economic distress; but, hey...BEEN THERE DONE THAT MANY OF TIMES. It's part of my 5yr plan you know. Plus once I complete the RN program, I am really looking into becoming a travel nurse - it's full of possibilities. What a gift it would be to show my children the wonders of the world - the rich culture of West Africa, capoeiristas of Brazil, La vida de Spain, etc! So, I will remain in prayer for this one because the day will come.
