Life happens right? I mean we can't stop the natural up roars of mother earth, its out of our hands. As I sit at home watching CNN today the human connection and emotion takes over. Haiti, an economically poor country, is suffering horribly at the hands of nature - an earthquake. Born in California, a state prone to earthquakes, and having lived through the 1989 experience, I still cannot even imagine what the Haitian people are going through. Walking amongst dead bodies in the streets, crushed bodies unidentified, piles of rubble every were, possible disease, and no idea when things will get better.

Whats more is that I know of a handful of sister granny midwives, nuns, in Haiti and have not heard about their condition yet. So this disaster is even closer to my heart. It reminds me as to why I became a nurse - there are so many ways to make change and affect peoples lives across the globe. We all have ways, not just monetary either. Please join in because you would want they same if it were you.
