Our Hands

I absolutely LOVE my new job! It DEFINITELY has its perks, but the pleasure goes far beyond that. There is a level of fulfillment that I have never experienced before...nervousness that settles in my gut because I am such a perfectionist...but the daily lessons remind me about the real work at hand. It requires a village...a community...all those hands, and I am thankful to be a part of that effort.

I want my community to embrace all that is not new, but IMPROVED - PERFECTED. There is nothing new under the sun. Remember that. Doula is nothing but a fancy word for sista...friend...so don't fear it, embrace it. I want us to realize that your bosom is not a sexual object, but rather a symbolism of love and nurturing - a connection that lasts a lifetime.

I am a midwife in training and these are all of the reasons why. I have to be a part of this renown revolution of birthing change.
