As tired as I was this morning, I managed to dedicate the day to my family. I felt like a real soccer mom! Firstly, my 7month old kept me up all through the night with a blazing cry of discomfort. I busted out the ninni with the quickness, but THAT didn't do damage control. So you know I was distraught, frustrated, and crazed from sleep deprivation. I wanted to cry as I heard the snores of my fellow family members down the hall: my daughter in HER bed and my husband on the living room couch. I put blame on her first two bottom teeth creeping through the gum line like molasses fresh out the tree. Finally...sleep and quiet - BUT time for me to wake up and rustle the other child up for school. Amazingly I had this rush of energy or maybe it was my mind and body playing tricks on me.
I woke up and thought...shower time - hot bubbling water on my back...THEN dun dunnnnn...lukewarm water because my husband had been in the other shower for like 45min trying to ward off a headache. DAMN IT!!! I was P.O.ed for real! So the shower bliss turned into a 3min soap down. The whole family piles in the car to take daughter to school and hubby to work. Afterwards I was reaching my dead point - what to do? I asked myself. I ended up doing a little work from moms house and then it was time to head back to my daughters school because I volunteered to read to the class a few days before like a DO DO! I read 3 books and the kids loved it. You know I had to bust out my Black author children's book because you know they don't get no culture. Oh, I was on my second book when one child of the Caucasian persuasion asks, "are these ALL Jamaica books?" Trying not to roll my eyes, I said "YES, don't you love them?!" Moving on, it was time for the Young Authors Parade around the school with my juicy 7month old in my arm WITHOUT my sling. My arms were on fire. School was out and it was time to head back to the South side to get the hubby from work.
All in all, the Boys and Girls loved them summa me!
