Never to Protective

I got this link today about a group of 1st grade boys who sexually assualted an 1st grade little girl AT SCHOOL during recess! Can you believe it? This generation of children have so many obstacles to face it is uncanny. Where does the problem lie? Are they lacking parental guidance...are they exposed to adult content through the media...sexually abused themselves? I dont know the answer and I am sure it is a mixture of all these things. But, how do we protect our children when nobody else seems to be concerned? As a parent, I am extremely concerned on what to do. I mean, you just didnt hear stories like this when I was coming up in ELEMENTARY! I fear for my children every day that I am instilling in them the security, self-awareness, openness, honesty, etc. to face these challenges or come to me FIRST if something should arise. Nothing is to little and we should always make time for them and SIMPLY listen.
