Hi, my name is Tia and I am a sweet tooth addict. The first step is always admitting your addiction and weakness. The 2nd step, usually the hardest, is actually stopping the addiction. Why in the world would anybody want to stop eating sweets you ask? I have dealt with candida and bacterial vaginosis off and on for years. It is one of the most uncomfortable feelings ever, not to mention embarrassing. In its worst conditions, I literally want to cut off my va jay jay! This might be TMI for some, but I share my experience for other women that might be suffering just the same and not understand it.
BV and candida are grossly under researched for some strange reason. Doctors prescribe Flagyl for BV, but most women I know have the BV come back over and over again. My midwife recommended flushing with 3% hydrogen peroxide for 5days, which I did along with taking L. acidophilus orally, and it clears up the classic symptoms: fishy odor, itching, and burning, BUT it always seems to come back. So what is a girl to do I ask? I mean I am not a fan of prescriptions, pills, etc. but when you are on "fire" you will do anything to find relief.
A mentor of mine found an article researching the correlation between Vit D deficiency and BV, especially amongst African American women. It was very profound, although more research is still being done. During my 2nd pregnancy my midwife told me to read a book on Yeast and to stop eating sugar (refined, high fructose syrup, etc.). It was HELLA hard for me and I didnt completely stop BUT i did greatly reduce my intake and not only did my yeast go away I felt much better. With pregnancy #3 I developed BV AND yeast all together so you can imagine the torture I suffered. During that time I was craving sugar and junk food like no other. All of this inspired me to look at my diet because diet is one of the main factors of major health factors in America.
The proof is in the pudding right? I dont know that I can do a raw food diet right now, not unless I had a personal chef. So today I am pledging to myself to start making moves to cut out the sugar and eat a more whole foods diet. This is much easier said than done. I have to take baby steps first and that is to clear my kitchen of any temptation. Then I plan to create a meal plan with the following goals:
1. eat a salad every day with the works
2. take L. acidophilus, cod liver oil, black strap molassess, folic acid
3. drink a gallon of water daily
Whoooo let me stop there because my heart is already getting tachycardiac at the thought of it all LOL. Pray for me yall!

You might want to gradually move yourself on to a raw food diet.
A raw food diet can still be classed as a raw food diet if 75% of your daily intake is raw food, so starting off isn't as difficult as you think!
Your making the best start by beginning with eating a salad every day! Try gradually moving on to 2/3 meals being raw food and then see how you feel you would cope with a 100% raw food diet!
Good luck :).
