New Year 2008

Thank HEAVENS its a new year because 2007 was a beast! However, today I will not dwell on the past nor the negative, but I will reflect upon the MANY lessons learned this past year and use them to make change for the new one. 2008 is going to be phenomenal because I am FINALLY teaching myself to "put the mask on my first" and then others. For years I suffocated my spirit pleasing others and not wanting to disappoint, but that has come to a hault. Not that Im slamming on the brakes, but rather a slow progression through a yellow light.

I have started the year off well. I mailed my nursing application to Sac State over the weekend with a little prayer of course. Last night I spent New Year's eve with my gorgeous daughters, mother, AND my best friend from college whom I hadnt seen for 9 years! A little champagne, Ledisi, and Dwele aint never hurt no body either ; )

I am not the resolution type as I have said before but I am definitely goal oriented. The goals, realistic ones, that I have set for myself are the following:

1. Closure on all things unfinalized from 2007
2. Start RN program by Fall
3. Sell my house
4. Exercise at least 3 times per week
5. Find love (in me and in others)
6. Define spiritual living for me
7. Take most negatives and turn it into a positive

Reflect, embrace, and love what the future has in store. Peace and blessings in the new year.
