Free from the Chains

It's been hella long since I took the time to write down my thoughts on virtual paper. Writing brings such a release from emotional bondage. It makes life easier because as I reflect, I come to realize just how small things are in reality at times. At this moment in time, there are so many things to worry about, BUT there are also many things to rejoice in. Yahweh has brought new adventures to my life for many reasons unknown to me, but I say "thank you"!

The week of August 13, I start a new job. Not just any job...the job of my early career dreams. I believe the official title is Training Coordinator, but I will be taking women from the community and training them to become doulas. In the process I hope to build a collaboration with a local hospital or medical office to provide this service. I am SO excited because the job will be such a challenge for me: most importantly it will teach me to think outside the box which is one of my weaker spots. I am the queen of following the rules, LOL. I also have much more flexibility in schedule for school and the children.

Both my girls start school on Monday and that is pretty exciting! Bringing my baby to work with me, being in control of what she eats and sees...what a revelation! LOL! Vegetables and fruit...here we come! I am not sure that I am feeling my oldest daughters 2nd grade teacher yet though. Yeah she seems young and hip, but I felt rushed at the open house last week. I am going to lay down my judgemental ways for the time being and let my daughter feel her out this coming week and take it from there.

What else...oh yeah, there is a possibility that I may go to Honduras in November!!! It is still more of a maybe - GIRL what are you thinking thing right now, but I SOOOOOOO want to go. The goal is to take medical supplies there for the Garifuna people and exchange practices with them on a health perspective. I have to come up with a lot of money soooo. I will pray about it.

Last, but SURELY not least...my BEST friend - hell my sister is coming to town next Friday and I cant wait to see her. Her spirit is so beautiful it lights up any room and I could use all of it as my 30th rolls around. We are gonna have a damn good time!!!
