Genetic Code

We all come from the past and incorporate it into our future. It is said that we must know where we come from to know where we are going. HOWEVER, that doesnt mean we cant create a new road in that path. Life is, and always will be, about change.

There is no handbook to marriage, career, or parenting. We take pieces of our past to help mold our views. A close friend boldly told me that I can sometimes be judgemental - in a quick effort to divert from the conversation, I said, "I know BUT.." Instantly and humanly, I really didnt want to hear her because i thought "you just dont understand me." After Yahweh snatched my ego, I was truely able to reflect on her words of constructivism. I thought about my WORDS just seconds before and realized, yes I see what she means. I realize that this is a part of my past that I have taken and applied. I know that I dont want to be that way so what changes do i make in my life? Thinking before I speak is the first step. I say all of this as an example of how we can rewrite the genetic code on our DNA, if you will. Creating a new and improved handbook of life for ourselves.

Leave it to a friend to tell it like it is! :) By the way, the whole world is judgemental. It comes from having values and opinions.
