Mission Impossible?

As a doula and aspiring nurse-midwife, breastfeeding encouragement is just one of my many challenges within the African American community. We are such educated people, but somewhere along the way we have been swayed into trusting more heavily in mainstream invention for nourishing our babies. I am not trying to reinvent the wheel, but simply reiterate that this is what our grand mothers did and it worked for centuries. Breastfeeding is not about inconveniencing the mother nor spoiling the child. Please check out this article or pass it on for that matter. Lets reinstate our loving bonds with our babies.
