Put it on out there

Ok, so everyone probably knows by now that I hate my job right? Right! Well, this past weekend after dance class, someone said something to me that was so profound. Not really profound, but it was deep at that moment. I thought why not? During our conversation, I found brilliant, passionate, incisive words just flowing from my lips effortlessly. Explaining my constant dilemma of "to find a new job or ride the tumultuous waves of the job from hell", this sista told me..."girl, you need to write that stuff down. Put it into the universe."

So today I am doing just that. I pray that if I at least verbalize my desires on "paper" I will always have something to remind me of my goals. I know that being an employee is not my calling, rather becoming an entrepreneur is in my blood. I want it so bad I can taste it. So with that, here are my "dream" career aspirations:

* Flexibility
* Organized management/company
* No stress
* Quiet/Peaceful environment
* Bring children to work
* Allowed to be a full time mother
* I want to encourage nursing and natural childbirth
* Educate and empower women about childbirth
* Challenges me to step out of my comfort zone - what comes naturally for me
* I want to wake up every morning thrilled to go to work because i am passionate about the work
* Worth the time I take away from my family
* Compensated for what I am WORTH, not settling for pennies
* Uplift the African American community: we have the highest infant mortality rates, our vision of birth is distorted, we put too much trust in medical society, need to get back to our roots of childbirth
* I am passionate about birth because it is my calling
* My spirit is calm, cool, and collective when I am a part of the birthing world
* With childbirth, I have a purpose in life outside of motherhood

Yahweh, please hear my cry! Today I welcome my lifes work to come to fruition.

Speak on it, sista! Although I still don't see what's so great about natural childbirth and all, I admired your passion and dedication about it! I wish I had passion at least. :)

You WILL have all the PASSION when your time comes along. I have a lot of work to do with you I know, but we'll make it through. Although you will be my toughest case yet. ROFL

Passion is innate...it doesn't just pop up. As much as I down Advil, you think I aint going to scream for the drugs!? I think so!
